Summer Youth Programs

9-1-1 Camp

2017 REGISTRATION CLOSED - All Camps are Full.

  • June 13 - 16, 2017
  • July 25 - 28, 2017

All 9-1-1 Camps start at 8:30AM and end at 5PM

Cost is $100.00 per participant, $75.00 for each additional sibling.

CAMP COUNSELORS WANTED!

We're looking for responsible youth who are at least15 years of age to serve as counselors for this year's two camps.  This is a great opportunity for high school age students needing community service time.  If interested, please complete and return a  Camp Counselor Application to the Maize Police Department by May 1, 2017.


For girls and boys 6-12 years old 

The 9-1-1 Camp is great for any child and will give them a good look at the different fields of public safety while fostering a positive relationship with officers.

Camp Participants

Camps will include the following:

  • Learn how to give vital information when calling 9-1-1
  • View a seatbelt demonstration by the Kansas Highway Patrol and their rollover truck.
  • See how different vehicles are used in policing
  • Learn fire safety and get a first hand demonstration of what a Fire Truck does
  • Obstacle / Team Building Challenge Course

Demonstrations from:

  • Wichita Police Mounted Unit
  • Sedgwick County Sheriff Office
  • And more!

All classes have a graduation on the last day.  Parents are encouraged to attend.  Photographs will be taken throughout the week and each child will receive a CD to remember the experience.

Officers and presenters from different fields of law enforcement will share what it is like in their fields.
